Get To Know Hartwell

Hartwell is a neighborhood located ten miles north of downtown Cincinnati. Known as the “Northern Gate” of Cincinnati, it was incorporated as at village in 1876. The Hartwell Circle is home to a Presbyterian and Methodist church and is also the location of the community event, “Light Up Hartwell” during the Holidays. With 4,640 residents, Hartwell is the 26th largest neighborhood in the City.


A Mark and a Map

Inspired by existing illustrations, this emblem represents the distinct Parkway Avenue circle just west of I-75.

Northern Gate

Two bold lines of I-75 and Cross County Highway identify Hartwell as a Gateway Community; Hartwell is Cincinnati’s northernmost neighborhood.

Hartwell’s colors are Maroon, Emerald & Ivory

Maroon for the diverse community.

Emerald for the tree-lined streets in the Mill Creek Valley.

Ivory for transportation and the Hamilton & Dayton Railroad station.
